The Center for Victims of Torture is seeking an experienced clinical professional to provide high quality leadership, coordination and on-site coaching of the CVT Jordan clinical team. The Lead Clinician is responsible for promoting efficient and collaborative decision-making across clinical disciplines, standardized supervision structures and management policies, and equitable workload distribution. This position strengthens accountability structures across the clinical team through close collaboration with the Clinic Systems Manager in the development, implementation and compliance with policies and procedures. The Lead Clinician enhances interdepartmental collaboration through coordination with the Operations Team, HR Manager, Monitoring & Evaluation team and the Training Manager. The Lead Clinician reports to the Clinical Advisors.

We offer rehabilitation services to those who have been tortured, train partners around the world who can prevent and treat torture, and advocate for human rights and an end to torture. We are headquartered in Minnesota, and we have US offices in Atlanta and DC, as well as offices in Africa and the Middle East.
Primary Responsibilities:
Clinical Team Management:
- Build a productive and cohesive team of clinical professionals.
- Working closely with Clinical Advisors, provide oversight of trainer team implementation of the performance review system, on-site follow-up and coaching for trainers in dealing with performance management issues in consultation with the Human Resources Manager.
- Work closely with the Human Resources Manager to ensure adherence to CVT Jordan policies, guidelines and values as they apply to the clinical team, including role modeling and encouraging best practices in staff well-being.
- In partnership with the Clinical Systems Manager, develop and implement accountability structures for clinical care standards, protocols and best practices
- Contribute to the development of internal policies, procedures, systems, and professional development opportunities in CVT Jordan.
- Hire, supervise, coach and develop the Clinic Systems Manager (and Interdisciplinary Team Coordinator prior to rollout of Clinic Systems Manager position).
- Provide administrative (non-clinical) supervision and professional mentorship for all (Associate) Trainers, the Social Services Manager, and the Training Manager.
- Participate in the hiring, orientation and training of new staff members.
Clinical Program Leadership
- Ensure achievement of program goals, coordinate workflows, implement policies and practices, and facilitate communication across the team.
- Coordinate trainer team activities including internal meetings, workload distribution and task allocation, leave planning, communication, and decision making
- Work closely with the Training Manager to ensure smooth coordination between clinical and training activities including staff schedules and trainer involvement in both external and internal trainings.
- Ensure progress towards program objectives and indicators.
- Report on clinical activities that focus on progress achieved toward program objectives. Solicit input from clinical team and provide feedback as requested on grant reports and proposals.
- Contribute to grant propsoals and program development opportunities as requested.
Interdepartmental Collaboration
- Promote collaboration across the CVT-Jordan program in order to ensure achievement of program goals.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure clear and thorough communication from the clinical team on issues related to logistics.
- Collaborate with the Country Director on interdepartmental issues relating to clinic operations, program implementation, and organizational development.
- Participate in relevant interdepartmental planning activities and forums with staff at CVT Jordan, Headquarters, and other field offices.
- Collaborate with the monitoring and evaluation department on matters related to clinical data monitoring, management, reporting and confidentiality.
Risk Management
- Participate in the local risk management team and carry out requested actions as assigned by the team leader.
- Help ensure clinical emergency preparedness plans are in place, and that there is appropriate awareness, understanding, compliance, and testing related to those plans.
- Implement health, safety, and security policies relevant to clinic operations.
- Provide oversight for implementation of regular clinical audits, filing system reviews, compliance performance and clinical data security.
Partner Relations and External Relations
- Contribute to the development of productive and strategic in-country relationships in order to facilitate achievement of broad program and clinical goals.
- Participate in relevant policy, planning and coordination forums with donors, partners, local government and other key stakeholders as requested.
- Coordinate with the Outreach and Partnership Manager and the Training Manager to facilitate CVT clinical representation and involvement externally.
Qualifications:
Required education, experience, certificates, licenses or registrations
- Advanced degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Physical Therapy/Physiotherapy or related field.
- At least 3 years of management experience within a healthcare setting including supervision of staff.
- Extensive experience providing clinical services to children, adults, families and groups.
- Experience working in a trauma treatment context internationally.
Preferred education, experience, certificates, licenses or registrations
- Credentialed/licensed as a Social Worker, Physiotherapist, Psychologist, Counselor, Psychotherapist or other related health care provider required.
- Experience working in the Middle East.
- Experience working with teams composed of psychotherapists, physiotherapists and social workers.

- Understanding of and experience implementing culturally appropriate interventions, including individual, group and community-based approaches for people who have suffered torture and war trauma.
- Demonstrated success in working on interdisciplinary treatment teams.
- Demonstrated success developing systems and processes that promote quality of care to clients.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Fluent in English. Fluency in Arabic desirable.
- Cultural sensitivity awareness in working with diverse staff and client populations.
- Skilled at carrying out needs assessment and program evaluations.
- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changing program requirements, client needs and political climate.
- Skilled at working as a member of a team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Experience liaising with donors, contractors, government officials and representatives from other agencies.
- Demonstrated success in project management, including managing multiple and competing priorities, coordinating individuals and teams, and developing processes.
- Ability to travel between 3-10 hours per week by vehicle to program locations.
