The Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist is responsible for the compiling, analysis, and reporting of confidential clinical and project activities data. S/he will implement and maintain data collection systems, monitor the integrity of collected data, and provide oversight for data collection processes. S/he will write or contribute to reports to a variety of audiences. S/he will consult with and support managerial and clinical staff about monitoring and evaluation and data-related issues. S/he will work closely with the Research Department at headquarters.
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months (with possibility for extension)
Reports to: HQ Research Associate (technical) and Country Director (adminstrative)
Supervises: Data entry staff
Internal contacts: (in country) Other (Associate) Psychotherapist/Trainers, (Associate) Physiotherapist/Trainers, Social Services Manager, Clinic Manager, national clinicians, program staff, and (Deputy) Country Director.

External contacts: Donors, funders
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Data analysis and reporting:
Plays leadership role in ensuring data are prepared and compiled to meet reporting deadlines for internal and external audiences
Identifies, anticipates, and resolves challenges related to meeting deadlines
Analyzes and interprets results for reporting and other purposes using Excel and/or SPSS
- Maintain monitoring and evaluation systems:
Monitors data collection processes
Collects and compiles project activities data; maintains updated electronic records of project activities
Provides assistance to project staff to ensure accuracy of data
Detect and resolve data integrity issues
Create data files in Excel and/or SPSS as required
As needed, responsible for timely and accurate entry of clinical assessment data in SPSS, SurveyGizmo, and/or other software
Maintains archives of data and client records
Ensures confidentiality of data in accordance to the Organization’s policies
- Assists with any other related activities as deemed necessary by clinical, administrative, and/or research colleagues. Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in management information systems, statistics, or related field; master’s degree preferred
At least 3 years of experience in M&E systems
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Experience in SPSS and/or other statistical software package
Fluent in Arabic and English
Excellent numeracy skills and strong experience in quantitative data management and analyses
Ability to work independently
Excellent interpersonal skills
- Organized and detail-oriented Interest or commitment to the field of humanitarian work
