The overall objective of Norwegian Red Cross is to achieve our humanitarian objectives at country level through results-based project management and risk management. It is to support Pakistan Red Crescent in strengthening community resilience. Through the partnership, Norwegian Red Cross provides technical programmatic support, financial support and capacity building of Pakistan Red Crescent.
NorCross objectives in Pakistan:
· support Pakistan Red Crescent in increasing access to health services, SRH, GBV and improving water and sanitation practices at community level.
· support Pakistan Red Crescent in programmes that reduce vulnerability and exposure to risk resulting from armed conflict and violence specifically targeting women and children.
· support Pakistan Red Crescent in their Finance Development from district level to National Headquarters to strengthen their ability to respond to the needs of vulnerable people
The overall responsibility as Country Manager in Pakistan:
· Follow up and strengthen the National Society partnership through project development and management in line with established project agreements and project plans.
· Manage country office personnel in accordance with Norwegian Red Cross leadership development framework, and in-country security.
· Represent Norwegian Red Cross in-country and contribute to complementary Red Cross Movement roles and responsibilities.

Education:
· University Degree in health-related discipline
· Education or working experience relevant for programmatic focus**
Experience with:
· Track record of managing humanitarian teams in complex humanitarian setting
· Proven ability to implement Health and/or WASH programmes in challenging contexts.
· Excellent drafting skills. Successful donor applications and reporting on humanitarian projects with measurable results.
Other skills:
· fluent written and spoken English
· International driving licence (manual gear) is required.
Reporting to:
Regional Representative ASIA, based in Islamabad
Position is based in:
Islamabad, Pakistan with frequent travel to the field (Peshawar).
Contract:
24 months’ contract, possible with extension
